*I found out recently that one of the major differences between depression and grief is that with depression, a person does not want to get out of bed to face another day, but if s/he does, more activity lessens the depression.
With grief, a person starts out the day with energy, but only a few hours later, mental and physical exhaustion set in and s/he has to retreat and rest.
*I've been mulling over what happens as I get older. The wisdom I have is sometimes not welcome, as it inhibits what little adventurous spirit I had. I worry about mortality of myself, friends and relatives in an entirely new way. Any little injury gives me shivers, as I know the possibilities of what could go wrong, as well as what should go right.
*Family becomes more and more important. As I said before, mortality becomes more apparent. Life is recognized as being very fragile and small 'magic' moments of peace and beauty are treasured. My friends are vital to my well being, strength and growth. The love of my dear children (4) and my precious grandchildren gives me a reason to keep going.
*I realize how tentative this life is and what an incredible hope we have to look forward to our eternal home with Jesus: The one, true, caring father who offers us eternal, unconditional love. I pray that I, that we'll be ready for that soon coming day.
